Why are Americans and Australians jealous of rich British History?

This question may not be as stupid as you make it seem. Perhaps a more intelligent person could have made the point better. America and Austrailia are both relatively young countries. We don't have thousands of years of physical history to look at every day. no castles, no colliseums, no Roman aqueducts or greek statues. So we do tend to be facinated by ancient cultures because our's is not ancient. It is a perfectly natural thing to be curious about the unknown. That must be why the British are so infatuated with balls.
